Join.me App Offers iPad Pro Support

Popular online meeting tool join.me has just announced an update to the join.me app, providing support for Apple’s new iPad Pro.

Taking advantage of the new iPad Pro stylus, the update means the mobile whiteboard within the join.me app is much more natural to use for brainstorming and jotting down shared ideas.

As Vice President of Products at join.me, Craig Daniel explains,

“The larger iPad screen and the new Apple Pencil make it easier then ever to meet and collaborate using join.me. From a bigger canvas for whiteboarding to more screen space to share and view documents the new device capabilities will really resonate with join.me users.”

The mobile whiteboard was first seen at the start of 2015, originally on the iPad before also becoming available on the iPhone version of the iPhone join.me app (which was voted as ‘Best New App June 2015‘ in the Apple App Store).

For those unfamiliar with join.me, the service enables you to host a meeting remotely and invite others to join (effectively a video conference call). The benefit over a traditional video link is the way information can be presented and contributed to by all parties.

Other features of the app include the option for in-meeting chats via a standard phone line or over VoIP (either with all participants of the meeting or individually), as well as easy sharing of files/documents discussed during the online meeting.

This is predominantly a business tool, however it’s a great way to work remotely with team members if you’re regularly in different locations (for example student projects during non-term time).

Both apps are free to download, with upgrade options for those in need of a dedicated conference line and local dial in numbers.
