The Three Best Voucher Apps
Everyone loves the bargain and with the downturn in the economy, voucher code websites have continued to flourish. This has led to a number of apps being created to offer users offline savings at stores and restaurants up and down the country.
The team at AppNews.co.uk have been using these apps for a few years now and thought it was about time to share our wisdom on the best voucher apps out there. Oh…and the best part..they’re all completely free to download on iOS or Android.
The VoucherCodes.co.uk website is the largest voucher code portal in the UK, with over 7 million people signed up. The company was one of the first in the UK to launch an app and it’s by far the prettiest around.
The interface of the VoucherCodes.co.uk app is a pleasure to use and it’s had a recent revamp which now makes it even easier to find both online and offline deals. Due to the size of the company it has huge bargaining power with retailers, which means it regularly runs a lot of exclusives that aren’t available on other voucher apps.
When it comes to finding vouchers you can do a quick search for ‘Nearby Vouchers’, before then filtering by category. You can save vouchers to use at a later date or set yourself a reminder to make sure you claim the deal before it expires.
It’s a beautifully simple app to use and for this reason it tops of list of the best voucher apps.
Unlike the VoucherCodes.co.uk app, the Vouchercloud app was actually built before the website. It was crafted by a team that previously specialized in direct marketing vouchers (essentially a book of vouchers for local retailers) and has subsequently gone on to get funding from telecoms giant Vodafone.
The backing has enabled the Vouchercloud app to grown substantially and it’s now one of the most downloaded voucher apps in the UK. It has a simple interface with similar functionality to the VoucherCodes.co.uk app, albeit not quite as elegant.
It tends to have more local offers for smaller retailers/garages/restaurants that most of the other voucher apps, which is useful if you prefer to steer away from the high street giants where possible.
The Vouchercloud app may also appeal to users who prefer a top menu for filtering, and it’s only down to personal design preference that it comes in a close second.
O2 Priority Moments App
If you’re not currently on O2, it’s unlikely you’ll be that familiar with the O2 Priority Moments app. Available only for O2’s customers, the app lists fewer offers than both VoucherCodes.co.uk and Vouchercloud, but they’re often stronger deals.
Our favourites tend to be the regular free coffee vouchers for the likes of Caffe Nero (who doesn’t love a freebie) and cheap lunch restaurant vouchers. These exclusives alone have allowed the O2 Priority Moments app to make it to this list.
We actually love this app so much that it’s an extra incentive to stay with O2 rather than switching networks (which is no doubt why O2 developed it) and hope it’s something that doesn’t get shelved in the coming years.
If you’ve already downloaded these voucher apps then you’re already one-step ahead in the game. If you’ve got none on your phone, you’re missing out on saving some extra cash on the high street so get downloading!
