Mobile app Wriggle was recently selected as one of the best start-ups in Europe and now has it’s sights set on London after a successful trial in Bristol.
The Wriggle app was launched to help independent restaurants to get more bums on seats when tables are available. It’s a great initiative for helping restaurants survive in today’s cut throat world and it’s no surprise that business owners in Bristol have been impressed with the app. Best of all, it gives you as the customer a new way to get cheaper food and drink when you’re out in London.
The Wriggle App will officially launch in London next Wednesday (26th November), but you can download the app for free today so you’re all set to go next week.
Each restaurant is handpicked by the Wriggle team so there’s no need to worry that it will be full of offers from the local kebab van. Expect to see a range of last-minute deals for everything from set menus to drinks (yep, you may actually be able to get a beer for under £4 in London with this app).
A few things you need to know:
#1) On the app you can see promotions for restaurants that need to be redeemed on the day – don’t expect to plan a cheeky weekend away in London and rely on the same offer being available.
#2) You pay in advance via the app so don’t expect to turn up at the restaurant and just show the app on your phone in order to claim the deal.
#3) On 26th November 2014, the app will be rolling out offers for establishments in Islington, Shoreditch, Camden and King’s Cross. Expect to see it expand into other areas in 2015. A total of 39 businesses are involved in London so far, so we expect the launch to get off to a flying start.
