A new android app develeper site has been launched and it looks and feels great.
The site which has been re-designed in time for the Google I/O, (Google’s annual dev conference) provides all the information needed for Android app developers to gain an understanding of the OS, with a wealth of technical information to better understand the possibilities of designing an app for the latest Android update Android 4.0 (AKA: Ice cream sandwich).
I had a good look around the site and found the information clearly laid out with plenty of white space allowing the eye to focus on the information rather than the design, which although very smart is not the point of the site.
From the download page you can get all the stencils, icon packs, and style guides needed to get you started making your Android app, and there is a an Android training section where you can learn how to build your first Android app.
The Distribute section provides all the information needed to monetize that killer app you you are going to design.
Resources like this are inportant to make sure Android remains the leading OS for Smartphones in the developing world.
