The BBC announced today that it has signed a partnership deal to bring the iPlayer to Windows 8 devices.
No date has been given as yet but the article on the BBC’s blog states that the app will soon be available in the Windows phone store.
The iPlayer app will be compatible with both Windows 8 and Windows 7.5 and will utilise the ‘Live tile’ feature of the Windows OS.
This is good news for Windows as it is another sign that their entry into the smart-phone arena is demanding that the big app players are developing for it’s platform.
