The American Red Cross have launched a new tornado warning app to warn users of incoming tornados.

The app will give users real-time information on the location, direction, and severity of the storm and provide locations of Red Cross storm shelters.

One of the best features of this app is the ability to contact friends and family at the touch of a button and let them know you are safe using your social media account.

This is not the first app the the American Red Cross has had developed, they also have a Wildfire app, Earthquake app and Hurricane app and more, you can find details of all the apps available here.
